Miss Rabinowitz has done a phenomenal job while student teaching in our classroom over the last few months! She has bonded with each and every one of our students in a special way. "Miss R.," as many of the children affectionately refer to her, has planned fun lessons and engaging activities that the children learned from. I think these lessons will stay with the children for a long time!
Did your child tell you about the "fishing" lesson they did with goldfish crackers yesterday? Using makeshift fishing poles and goldfish crackers, our students learned about the food chain in the ocean. They saw a small scale simulation of how overfishing in our oceans can affect the population of the life in the sea! What a clever and innovative way to deliver this powerful message.
While Miss R. will still officially be with us at Dryden until May 12th, this is her last real week of teaching. I have begun the transition back to the front of the class this week teaching Math, and I will be back teaching the majority of the day next week as Miss Rabinowitz finishes up her science unit on "Saving the Earth" that she planned especially for the children. We will surely miss her!
